A popular phrase at OM is “we get shit done”. So, we think it’s pretty rad when people see a problem and find a way to fix it - a magic-maker, if you will. One of our newest partners, Citibot, is doing just that, minus pulling a rabbit out of a hat. The company saw day-to-day issues impacting local governments across the country and came up with a pretty genius way to solve them.
Citibot is a tool for citizens and their governments to use for communication and civic change. Via text message and messenger apps, Citibot can be used by everyday folks, like you and me, to help report a problem and search for answers.
Here’s how it works: let’s say you’re driving down the road and there’s a light out on the highway. Thanks to Citibot, all you have to do is shoot a text to your city’s Citibot number and report the incident with its location. And, voila! Just like that your citizen do-good deed of the day is sent to your local municipal to get fixed. Bada bing. Bada boom. Upon completion, Citibot will let you know that the light has been restored. The same thing happens if you’re wondering when holiday trash pick-up is or what time the farmer’s market begins. It’s like a personal Siri for your city.
With the techy-details squared away by a team of bot wizards, OM got to work designing Citibot’s branding and website. The company oozes efficiency and innovation, so we went with bright colors and modern designs to reflect the company’s vibe, all the while keeping the description copy to short informational snippets à la text messaging.
